In December 2015 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work Market Day, Edinburgh, Under North Bridge With Calton Hill Beyond by William Turner de Londe. The result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,357.95) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Turner de Londe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fairground Scene in May 2013 with an auction result of GBP 76,900.00 (€ 89,908.11).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Market Day, Edinburgh, Under North Bridge With Calton Hill Beyond von William Turner de Londe zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.357,95) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Turner de Londe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fairground Scene im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 76.900,00 (€ 89.908,11).
