Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Female by William Turnbull was sold in the Modern British & Irish Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in October last year. The price achieved of GBP 277,200.00 (€ 322,934.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Turnbull - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lotus Totem, which sold at auction in June 2015 for GBP 701,000.00 (€ 988,401.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Female von William Turnbull wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 277.200,00 (€ 322.934,93) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Turnbull mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lotus Totem beobachtet, die im Juni 2015 für GBP 701.000,00 (€ 988.401,20) versteigert wurde.
