Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (rehabilitating the savages), 2006 by William T. Wiley was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in April last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,462.50 (€ 4,235.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by William T. Wiley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ediface Complex, 1981 in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 25,075.00 (€ 22,326.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (rehabilitating the savages), 2006 von William T. Wiley kam im April letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.462,50 (€ 4.235,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William T. Wiley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ediface Complex, 1981 im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.075,00 (€ 22.326,60).
