Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Bonhams held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Aberdeen harbour by William Smith. The price achieved of GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,186.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A pack of foxhounds on a bank above a rocky gorge in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 41,250.00 (€ 29,635.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Aberdeen harbour von William Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.186,78) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A pack of foxhounds on a bank above a rocky gorge im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.250,00 (€ 29.635,75).
