Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Near Pangbourne, Berkshire;and At Herne, Kent by William Sidney Cooper was sold in the At Home - British and Continental Pictures & Works on Paper auction at Christies in London in April 2003. The price achieved of GBP 940.00 (€ 1,224.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Sidney Cooper achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sheep by a tarn in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,893.60).
