The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,188.84), 44% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by William Sidney Cooper have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sheep by a tarn in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,893.60).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.160,00 (€ 3.188,84) und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Sidney Cooper auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sheep by a tarn im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.000,00 (€ 26.893,60).
