This artwork by William Scott achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in October this year. In the Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale auction, the work Bowl with Lid on Blue sold for GBP 68,040.00 (€ 78,128.82) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Scott achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bowl, Eggs and Lemons in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 1,071,650.00 (€ 1,354,601.53).

Dieses Kunstwerk von William Scott erzielte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Bowl with Lid on Blue für GBP 68.040,00 (€ 78.128,82) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Scott erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bowl, Eggs and Lemons im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.071.650,00 (€ 1.354.601,53).
