Auction result fails to reach estimate
When this work without title by William Scharff was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in January 2024, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had set an estimate of DKK 3,000.00 but failed to be met - in fact, the artwork changed hands for DKK 750.00 (€ 655.48). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Scharff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work “Hønsebillede” (Chicken Painting), 1917 in June this year with an auction result of DKK 1,600,000.00 (€ 214,798.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt den Schätzpreis
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von William Scharff im Januar 2024 bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit DKK 3.000,00 angegeben, edn dieses Werk bei seiner Vertsiegerung jedoch nicht erreichen konnte - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für DKK 750,00 (€ 655,48) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Scharff erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit “Hønsebillede” (Chicken Painting), 1917 im Juni diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von DKK 1.600.000,00 (€ 214.798,53).
