Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Eleanor (1839-1895) and Mary Ann Rickards (1841-1926), full-length, Eleanor in a white dress with flowers in a basket by her side, and Mary Ann in a red dress with flowers in her hair, in a landscape by Walter Salter was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2001. The price achieved of GBP 2,585.00 (€ 4,173.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. Admittedly, works by Walter Salter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Waterloo Banquet, 1836 in October 2005 with an auction result of GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,466.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Eleanor (1839-1895) and Mary Ann Rickards (1841-1926), full-length, Eleanor in a white dress with flowers in a basket by her side, and Mary Ann in a red dress with flowers in her hair, in a landscape von Walter Salter kam im September 2001 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.585,00 (€ 4.173,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Walter Salter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Waterloo Banquet, 1836 im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.200,00 (€ 19.466,01).
