Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Connemara by William Percy French was sold in the 20th Century British Art including The Studio of Humphrey Jennings auction at Christies in London in July 2006. The price achieved of GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,269.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Percy French achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Paint Brush and Pen: Some Impressions for Pictures and Snatches of Song by William Percy French'; an album of thirteen watercolours including The Fairie's Cough; Morning; Evening; In the Studio; The Kindly Welcome; To E.R.; To the Dark Rosaleen; Gor in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 58,750.00 (€ 94,2
