Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2005 Christies in London held the auction VICTORIAN & TRADITIONALIST PICTURES, which included the work Naples From Near Virgil'S Tomb by William Parrot. The price achieved of GBP 42,000.00 (€ 61,703.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Parrot - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Fair In The Champs Elysee, Paris '(Grand Tintamarre) Voila, Voila, V'La, V'La Messieurs! Venez Voir, Venez Voir, Madlle. Rose, La Femme Colosse La Plus Êtonnante Du Monde Par La Suavité De Sa Voix, La Naiveté De Ses Traits, L'Epaisseur De Son, which sold at auction in June 2001 for GBP 124,750.00 (€ 207,234.57).
A Fair In The Champs Elysee, Paris '(Grand Tintamarre) Voila, Voila, V'La, V'La Messieurs! Venez Voir, Venez Voir, Madlle.
