Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work The 2nd Green, Westward Ho! by William Page Atkinson Wells for GBP 3,585.00 (€ 5,159.80). This price was achieved in the auction The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Page Atkinson Wells - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Lilac Sunbonnet, which sold at auction in October 2008 for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,339.71).
