In March 2005 Christies in New York held the auction THE HOUSE SALE, which included the work A Wooded Landscape by William Merritt Post. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,920.00 (€ 1,480.45), 28% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by William Merritt Post have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Autumn River Landscape in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 11,750.00 (€ 13,846.34).

Im März 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion THE HOUSE SALE durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Wooded Landscape von William Merritt Post zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.920,00 (€ 1.480,45) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Merritt Post auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Autumn River Landscape im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.750,00 (€ 13.846,34).
