Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Mellor could be acquired at Christies in London in October 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work A shepherd on a path changed hands for GBP 625.00 (€ 796.65) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Mellor achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grasmere Lake from Loughrigg, Westmoreland in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 10,575.00 (€ 16,560.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Mellor konnte im Oktober 2008 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte die Arbeit A shepherd on a path für GBP 625,00 (€ 796,65) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Mellor erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Grasmere Lake from Loughrigg, Westmoreland im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.575,00 (€ 16.560,59).
