Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Awakening by William McCance was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Christies in London in July 2016. The price achieved of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,930.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William McCance - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Woman In A Deck Chair, which sold at auction in September 2010 for GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,939.64).

Die Arbeit The Awakening von William McCance wurde im Juli 2016 in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.625,00 (€ 1.930,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William McCance mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Woman In A Deck Chair beobachtet, die im September 2010 für GBP 6.000,00 (€ 6.939,64) versteigert wurde.
