Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Poppies and other flowers in a vase by William Malherbe was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2005. The price achieved of USD 1,320.00 (€ 1,119.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Malherbe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nature morte avec vase de fleurs, which sold at auction in February 2004 for USD 3,107.00 (€ 2,497.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Poppies and other flowers in a vase von William Malherbe kam im November 2005 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.320,00 (€ 1.119,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Malherbe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nature morte avec vase de fleurs beobachtet, die im Februar 2004 für USD 3.107,00 (€ 2.497,39) versteigert wurde.
