The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,594.42), 54% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Logsdail achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Gates Of The Khalifa, Cairo in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 200,000.00 (€ 231,985.66).

Die Arbeit Portrait of a William Muerdie Esq., small quarter-length, in a black coat, a coat-of-arms beyond von William Logsdail wurde im Mai 2005 in der Auktion British and Victorian Paintings bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.080,00 (€ 1.594,42) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Logsdail erzielen.
