This artwork by William Lionel Wyllie achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in October this year. In the The Marine Sale auction, the work HMS Victory at sunset sold for GBP 6,144.00 (€ 7,055.02) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Lionel Wyllie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landing Fish, Ambleteuse in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 70,883.21).

Dieses Kunstwerk von William Lionel Wyllie erzielte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Marine Sale wurde die Arbeit HMS Victory at sunset für GBP 6.144,00 (€ 7.055,02) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Lionel Wyllie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Landing Fish, Ambleteuse im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 70.883,21).
