Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Ferry on the Middleburg Canal', Holland by William Lionel Wyllie was auctioned at Bonhams in London in April last year. The price achieved of GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,216.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Lionel Wyllie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landing Fish, Ambleteuse in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 70,883.21).
