In April 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work 'The Start' by William Lionel Wyllie. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,785.00 (€ 2,053.27), 49% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Lionel Wyllie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landing Fish, Ambleteuse in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 70,883.21).

Im April 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'The Start' von William Lionel Wyllie zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.785,00 (€ 2.053,27) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Lionel Wyllie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Landing Fish, Ambleteuse im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 70.883,21).
