Here, the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 6,462.50 (€ 7,464.19). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Lester Stevens - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Logging, which sold at auction in November 2001 for USD 16,450.00 (€ 18,363.47).

Die Arbeit The Late Thaw von William Lester Stevens wurde im Februar 2002 in der Auktion FINE AMERICAN PAINTINGS, DRAWINGS AND SCULPTURE bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 6.462,50 (€ 7.464,19) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von William Lester Stevens mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Logging beobachtet, die im November 2001 für USD 16.450,00 (€ 18.363,47) versteigert wurde.
