Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Laguna Coast sight 12 3/4 x 18 3/4 in. framed 27 1/4 x 33 1/4 in. by William Lees Judson was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 307.20 (€ 281.63). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Lees Judson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Where the Cliffs Meet the Sea in April this year with an auction result of USD 14,025.00 (€ 12,703.80).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Laguna Coast sight 12 3/4 x 18 3/4 in. framed 27 1/4 x 33 1/4 in. von William Lees Judson im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 307,20 (€ 281,63) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Lees Judson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Where the Cliffs Meet the Sea im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 14.025,00 (€ 12.703,80).
