Auction result well in line with expectations
In August this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California Art, which included the work Wooded Interior by William Keith. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,200.00 (€ 2,952.30) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Keith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Yosemite Valley in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 755,000.00 (€ 581,305.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Wooded Interior von William Keith zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.200,00 (€ 2.952,30) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Keith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Yosemite Valley im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 755.000,00 (€ 581.305,82).
