Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by William Johnstone was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2008. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,505.26) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Johnstone have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Earth, Air, Fire, Water in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 19,200.00 (€ 28,254.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von William Johnstone kam im Oktober 2008 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.505,26) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Johnstone auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Earth, Air, Fire, Water im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 19.200,00 (€ 28.254,10).
