Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Johnstone could be acquired at Christies in London in September 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, this work without title changed hands for GBP 625.00 (€ 790.25) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Johnstone achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Earth, Air, Fire, Water in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 19,200.00 (€ 28,254.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Johnstone konnte im September 2008 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für GBP 625,00 (€ 790,25) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Johnstone erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Earth, Air, Fire, Water im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 19.200,00 (€ 28.254,10).
