Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2009 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Rain in Ettrick by William Johnstone. The price achieved of GBP 687.50 (€ 773.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Johnstone achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Earth, Air, Fire, Water in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 19,200.00 (€ 28,254.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2009 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rain in Ettrick von William Johnstone zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 687,50 (€ 773,89) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Johnstone erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Earth, Air, Fire, Water im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 19.200,00 (€ 28.254,10).
