Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A Foetid Life by William Johnstone was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in January 2009. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 812.50 (€ 914.60). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Johnstone achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Earth, Air, Fire, Water in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 19,200.00 (€ 28,254.10).

Die Arbeit A Foetid Life von William Johnstone wurde im Januar 2009 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 812,50 (€ 914,60) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Johnstone erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Earth, Air, Fire, Water im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 19.200,00 (€ 28.254,10).
