Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings & Sculpture, which included the work View Of The Entrance To The Cannareggio Canal With The Church Of San Geremia And The Palazzo Labia, Venice by William James. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 80,500.00 (€ 58,694.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William James - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Bucintoro Returning To The Molo On Ascension Day, Venice, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 325,000.00 (€ 208,761.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit View Of The Entrance To The Cannareggio Canal With The Church Of San Geremia And The Palazzo Labia, Venice von William James zur Versteigerung kam.
