Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2014 Christies in New York held the auction Creatures, Great and Small, which included the work The Pride Of Lions by William Huggins. It changed hands for a price of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,505.66) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Huggins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two leopards in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 458,500.00 (€ 334,305.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2014 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Creatures, Great and Small durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Pride Of Lions von William Huggins zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.505,66) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 4.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Huggins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two leopards im Januar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 458.500,00 (€ 334.305,50).
