The price achieved of USD 4,032.00 (€ 3,757.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Howard Yorke have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The American clipper Caravan rendering assistance to a British full-rigger in mid-Atlantic in July 2003 with an auction result of USD 23,900.00 (€ 19,415.11).
