Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unionists, three paupers; I'll tell you my business with all my briefs for fourty pounds (illustrated); and Youth and folly by William Henry Pyne was sold in the British Art on Paper auction at Christies in London in November 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,151.00 (€ 3,368.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by William Henry Pyne have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2001 the work Windsor Castle: The Queen's Prescence Chamber; St Georges Hall; The King's Old State Bed Chamber; Queens Audience Chamber; The Royal Chapel; The Kings Drawing Room; Ball Room was auctioned for GBP 3,760.00 (€ 6,303.73).
