Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Dovima Under the El, "Dior Creates Cosmopolitan Drama", for Douglas Simon by William Helburn. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,500.00 – 4,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,570.00 (€ 3,090.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by William Helburn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Red Canoe in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 17,917.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dovima Under the El, "Dior Creates Cosmopolitan Drama", for Douglas Simon von William Helburn zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.500,00 – 4.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.570,00 (€ 3.090,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Helburn auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Red Canoe im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 17.917,94).
