Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Hollow Horn Bear by William Harry Ahrendt was auctioned at Bonhams in April this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 7,650.00 (€ 6,929.35). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Harry Ahrendt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Osage Chief Claremore, which sold at auction in August 2021 for USD 16,562.50 (€ 14,036.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Hollow Horn Bear von William Harry Ahrendt im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 7.650,00 (€ 6.929,35) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von William Harry Ahrendt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Osage Chief Claremore beobachtet, die im August 2021 für USD 16.562,50 (€ 14.036,02) versteigert wurde.
