Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2015 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings, which included the work A partridge, bullfinches and other birds, with hunting paraphernalia, on a partially draped stone ledge by William Gouw Ferguson. The price achieved of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,724.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Gouw Ferguson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Falconry Still Life With A Dead Partridge, Songbirds, And Hunting Attributes Hanging On A Rope, which sold at auction in May 2010 for EUR 29,550.00.
