Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Flowers in a White Pitcher by William James Glackens. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 20,400.00 (€ 19,761.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William James Glackens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Café Lafayette (Portrait of Kay Laurell) in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 792,500.00 (€ 699,902.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flowers in a White Pitcher von William James Glackens zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 20.400,00 (€ 19.761,70) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William James Glackens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Café Lafayette (Portrait of Kay Laurell) im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 792.500,00 (€ 699.902,85).
