This artwork by William Gear achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in June 2017. In the Modern & Post-War British Art auction, the work Landscape, Twin Trunks sold for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 21,352.75) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00.
