Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work HMS Lord Nelson; HMS Duncan, two works each 24.8 x 35cm (9 3/4 x 13 3/4in). (2) by William Frederick Mitchell for GBP 510.00 (€ 569.33). This price was achieved in the auction The Marine Sale at Bonhams in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Frederick Mitchell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A collection of shipping scenes in January last year with an auction result of GBP 4,788.00 (€ 5,739.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit HMS Lord Nelson; HMS Duncan, two works each 24.8 x 35cm (9 3/4 x 13 3/4in). (2) von William Frederick Mitchell für GBP 510,00 (€ 569,33) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Marine Sale bei Bonhams in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Frederick Mitchell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A collection of shipping scenes im Januar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.788,00 (€ 5.739,02).
