Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work Buttermere Lake by William Frederick Mitchell. The price achieved of GBP 360.00 (€ 525.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Frederick Mitchell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A collection of shipping scenes in January last year with an auction result of GBP 4,788.00 (€ 5,739.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Buttermere Lake von William Frederick Mitchell zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 360,00 (€ 525,48) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Frederick Mitchell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A collection of shipping scenes im Januar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.788,00 (€ 5.739,02).
