Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Frederick de Haas could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work A Lake In The Mountains changed hands for USD 23,750.00 (€ 16,866.70) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Other works by William Frederick de Haas have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2007 by the work White Island Light at USD 43,000.00 (€ 29,720.76).
