Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2021 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Untitled, 1965-1970 by William Eggleston. Here, the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 81,250.00 (€ 67,539.48). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Eggleston achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled, 1970 in May this year with an auction result of USD 1,008,000.00 (€ 946,123.52).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2021 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, 1965-1970 von William Eggleston zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 81.250,00 (€ 67.539,48) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Eggleston erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled, 1970 im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.008.000,00 (€ 946.123,52).
