Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work The River At Whitby (Illustrated); And The Harbour At Penzance by William Edward Webb for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,123.63). This price was achieved in the auction Maritime Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by William Edward Webb have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Quayside Fish Market At Douglas, Isle Of Man in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 17,925.00 (€ 25,785.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2014 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The River At Whitby (Illustrated); And The Harbour At Penzance von William Edward Webb für GBP 2.500,00 (€ 3.123,63) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Maritime Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Edward Webb auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Quayside Fish Market At Douglas, Isle Of Man im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.925,00 (€ 25.785,02).
