Auction result well in line with expectations

In November 2007 Christies in London held the auction Maritime, which included the work Douglas Harbour, Isle of Man by William Edward Webb. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 7,001.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Edward Webb - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Quayside Fish Market At Douglas, Isle Of Man, which sold at auction in November 2004 for GBP 17,925.00 (€ 25,785.02).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im November 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime durch, in der auch die Arbeit Douglas Harbour, Isle of Man von William Edward Webb zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 7.001,29) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Edward Webb mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Quayside Fish Market At Douglas, Isle Of Man beobachtet, die im November 2004 für GBP 17.925,00 (€ 25.785,02) versteigert wurde.
