A top price for William Edward Millner - as previously expected
In November 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation, which included the work The Postman by William Edward Millner. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,113.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Postman is the most expensive artwork by William Edward Millner that we have observed at auctions so far.
