Auction result well in line with expectations

In June 2014 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work The fisherman's wife by William Edward Millner. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,811.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by William Edward Millner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Postman in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,113.44).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Juni 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The fisherman's wife von William Edward Millner zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.811,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Edward Millner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Postman im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 15.113,44).
