Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The loss of the 100-gun First Rate H.M.S. Royal George at Spithead, 29th August 1782 by William Stuart was sold in the Maritime Art auction at Christies in London in May 2012. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,574.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Stuart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trafalgar: The heat of the action in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 145,250.00 (€ 173,573.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The loss of the 100-gun First Rate H.M.S.
