Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2002 Christies in London held the auction British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures, which included the work Phlox in a jug with a silver dish on a table by William Crampton Gore. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,172.50 (€ 5,186.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Crampton Gore - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Roses In A Glass, which sold at auction in March 2016 for GBP 10,000.00 (€ 12,625.99).
