A top price for William Cowen - as previously expected
In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction The Collection of the Late John Appleby: A Channel Island Treasure House, which included the work View of Frascati, near Rome by William Cowen. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,045.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, View of Frascati, near Rome is the most expensive artwork by William Cowen that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im November 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Collection of the Late John Appleby: A Channel Island Treasure House durch, in der auch die Arbeit View of Frascati, near Rome von William Cowen zur Versteigerung kam.
