Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hastings from the Pier Rocks by William Collingwood was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in September 2008. The price achieved of GBP 300.00 (€ 379.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200.00 – 400.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Collingwood - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Jungfrau At Sunrise, which sold at auction in December 2007 for GBP 1,062.50 (€ 1,443.76).
