Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction Maritime & Naval Battles (Pictures), which included the work The Eliza Stewart under reduced sail in the Channel off the Eddystone lighthouse by William Clark of Greenock. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 12,600.00 (€ 18,541.75). Other works by William Clark of Greenock have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 17,625.00 (€ 25,300.95) in November 2003 for the work The three-masted barque Akbar arriving off Port Louis, Mauritius.

Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 12.600,00 (€ 18.541,75) einen neuen Besitzer.
