In October 2004 Christies in London held the auction The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, which included the work Souvenir of the seventies' by William Bruce Ellis Ranken. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,346.00 (€ 4,815.81), 34% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Bruce Ellis Ranken - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Oliver Messel (1904-1978) aged seventeen, which sold at auction in September 2020 for GBP 16,250.00 (€ 17,918.27).

Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh durch, in der auch die Arbeit Souvenir of the seventies' von William Bruce Ellis Ranken zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.346,00 (€ 4.815,81) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von William Bruce Ellis Ranken mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of Oliver Messel (1904-1978) aged seventeen beobachtet, die im September 2020 für GBP 16.250,00 (€ 17.918,27) versteigert wurde.
